Canadian Federation of University Women Vernon celebrated International Women’s Day this year by sponsoring a poetry contest on the theme, “Women and Their Achievements”.

The contest was held to honour the women in our lives who have played a role in encouraging, nurturing, mentoring, and supporting us, as well as to celebrate women who have achieved success in aspects of society such as politics, education, science, medicine, and the environment.

The winners were announced at an online awards program on International Women’s Day, March 8 th.
