Book Club

Reading is a simple pleasure.  There is nothing quite like losing oneself in a captivating story or being challenged when learning something new.   So give yourself up to this simple pleasure.  Slow down, pick out a good book, maybe that bestseller you’ve been meaning to read, a classic you’ve always wanted to try or that non-fiction item your friend was suggesting.  Settle down in your favourite chair or curl up in that couch corner, crack open the covers and immerse yourself.  … Then take the second step to enhancing this simple pleasure:  join a book club!

Are you looking for good books; thoughtful, intelligent, stimulating discussion; fun and companionship?  Our CFUW Vernon’s Libra Phillies Book Club meets regularly on the 4th Tuesday of the month and guests are welcome to attend a meeting or 2 before becoming members of CFUW Vernon.

Meetings are held at the homes of members, on a rotational basis, and times may vary.
Book Club Members each choose a book for the month in which they are hosting.  Books can be from any genre, and include fiction and non-fiction.  Here is the current line-up.
